Resident Director, CSU International Programs in France (2011-2013). Directed CSU programs in Aix-en-Provence and Paris, France. Provided administrative and academic leadership to both programs for over 90 students each year.
General Duties
Maintained official contacts with French universities; evaluated staff performance; edited and updated all official printed materials, brochures, informational reports pertaining to the France program; wrote year-end report evaluating all aspects of programs and provided recommendations for improvement.
Administrative and Financial Duties
Maintained accounts in a foreign bank; received and disbursed funds as appropriate from State and Program accounts; maintained expenditures within budgeted amounts; provided for the proper maintenance of the overseas facilities; aided in negotiation of contracts for overseas facilities and personnel.
Academic Duties
Provided academic advising to participating students and approved course enrollments; provided continuous supervision and evaluation of the academic work of students; reported coursework in accordance with established procedures, including an evaluation of academic work in terms of CSU requirements.
Student Life Duties
Counseled students on nonacademic aspects of the study-abroad experience; arranged excursions and social activities; ensured that students observed all relevant regulations of CSU International Programs; maintained detailed records on all participating students; assisted individual students in the conduct of their personal affairs and in their adjustment to the foreign experience.
Upper-Division French Coordinator, CSU San Bernardino (1993-2011). Coordinated upper-division course offerings, scheduled classes, organized extracurricular activities and meetings for French majors and minors, advised students, assessed progress of students based on the outcomes from the Intermediate and Senior Assessments, promoted work/study abroad programs for French majors and minors.
Administrator, Richard Switzer Scholarship, CSU San Bernardino (1998-2011). Approximately $25,000 in scholarships are offered every year to CSU San Bernardino French Majors to study in France for an academic year.
Coordinator, Women’s Studies Program, CSU San Bernardino (Winter 2001-Spring 2007): Provided academic leadership, worked with Women’s Studies Program Advisory Committee, developed and monitored curriculum, scheduled classes, coordinated faculty teaching “Perspectives on Gender” (a senior-level capstone course), hired faculty to staff Women’s Studies core courses and special topics courses, managed budget, advised students, produced cultural events on campus.
